Pinewood Derby & A High Heel Shoe...

My boys recently had their Pinewood Derby in Cub Scouts, and the whole family decided to participate. They have an "open class" race for friends and family members, so we each made a car that fit our personalities.... and let me tell you, my family is pretty creative!

Matt made a Lego car, Julianna made an electric guitar, Simon a race car, Oliver a pirate ship & Anabelle made a "purple & green monkey" car.

I am so proud of Simon & Oliver- they ended up placing 1st & 2nd place!!!

All I could think about was making a PRIMA car (haha!) and then I got the great idea to make a high heel shoe- complete with Prima decoration... Not only does my car look fantastic, it came in 2nd place overall! I was beat only by my darling daughter, Anabelle and her monkey car.

Not a bad way to go in my opinion ;0)

Who says the Pinewood Derby is just for boys? This Diva had a blast! HAHA! ;0)

It has been almost 5 months to the day since I last posted.... so many things have happened since then. I actually got burnt out of scrapbooking & decided to take a break. I never thought it would happen, but it did. I am just now coming out of the fog and it is like I have a crush- and my new crush is making my giddy!

I have a crush on Glimmer Mist, all the new Prima flowers, Webster's Pages, Lace, Stamps, Glitter, Smooch, Ribbon, CTMH, Pink Paislee, Basic Grey, Bling, Pearls Swirls & Flourishes.... oh yes- I have a crush and it is keeping me up at night. I have discovered the JOY in creating again!! HALLELUJAH!

I am such a blog slacker this summer!! Matt actually gave me a hard time just now for not posting my favs this week.... so here they are, a day late!!

he is such a super cutie- I just love him!!

3. Home Parties

I had a CTMH this week and it was sooooo much fun!! I really love their products, but I also just had a great time having a party at my house and inviting all my friends over!

4. Winning Raffle Prizes

Anabelle's name was drawn at Matt's company picnic this week and she won an adorable Barbie bike!!! so fun!

5. My hubby: Matt!

tomorrow is our 12 year anniversary and I am more in love than ever! I am so thankful for my sweet husband!

Sassafras- Ooh La La!!

I know this Sassafras paper line has been out for awhile, but I just got my first opportunity to use it through Everything Scrappn'!! I had a blast designing with the Woodland Whimsy line! The vintage inspired paper is perfect for some of my baby photos :-)

Happy Holiday Weekend- here are my Favs!

1. America

I love our country and the freedom that we have!

I am so thankful to be an American citizen!

2. Fireworks

3. Cookouts

I am so excited to go to a 4th of July party/cookout tomorrow

with friends and family! YUM!

4. Lawn Mowers {or the sound of it!}

I LOVE the sound of the lawn being mowed-

it is so summery to me! Makes me smile everytime I wake up and

hear the sound of the lawn being mowed in the distance!

5. Slip N Slides

remember these? I loved playing on a slip n slide when I was a kid!

I just found one at Target and now I am teaching my own kids to

enjoy the simple joy of the backyard sprinkler!

Here is what I have been doing with the Communique line by Graphic 45:

"Floyd's 5 & Dime Store"

the flower I wanted to use for this page was not really the right
color, so I layered a couple colors of Glimmer Mist on top until
it looked right. (the picture is me peeling back a petal to show
the original color)

this picture shows a close up of how I used the Tattered
Angel's "misting tool" like a stencil. I laid the tool on top
of the paper, then sprayed a couple layers of glimmer mist.
When I removed the tool, there is a reverse-stencil pattern
of a scrolled corner was left on the paper.

Exciting News!!!

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! :-)

I didn't have time to do my FAVS today, and I will tell you why....

My husband and I just bought our first home!!! After 12 years of renting, we finally became homeowners YESTERDAY! We have been packing and moving all week and most of my scrapbook stuff is inaccessible. {although I do have an emergency scrap kit put together in case I need some scrapping therapy!}

Anyway, we bought an old farm-style house built in 1911- and I am soooo in love! It has plenty of room for our whole family, a huge yard and I get a huge scrap studio!!!!! Yippee! Here is a pic:

Happy Friday!!!

My Fav's today will feature scrapbook stuff (since this IS my scrapping blog, I thought it would be appropriate to actually feature scrap stuff.... HA!)

My 5 favorite things to use right now- I am using these on every page!

1. Edge Distresser

I distress EVERYTHING! My projects feel naked otherwise. Sometimes people ask me how I do that- here is the answer: I have always used the Heidi Swapp distresser and it is awesome & super easy to use!

Just recently I found a new one from Close to my Heart and I am LOVING it! It has multiple openings, so if one section gets dull, you can just move to another one! (sorry for the poor picture... it is the circular tool on the left)

2. Lace

oh yes, another MUST HAVE for me! I use lace on everything! new, vintage, colorful, white... I never met a piece of lace I didn't like! ;-)

and just recently, I found this DYEABLE lace by Prima- LOVE THIS! You can ink it, spray it, paint it.... the possibilities are endless & you never get the same look twice! How fun is that?!?

3. Flowers

and Prima has LOTS of new ones coming out... and yep, I want them ALL! Here are some sneak peeks:

4. Glimmer Mist

Made by Tattered Angels, this stuff is HOT! I am not kidding- so much fun to use! (and you will feel so creative!) I am using it more and more... with over 80 colors to choose from, you can easily find one to fit your next project!

5. Cat's Eye Chalk Inks

I think most scrapper's have probably found these chalk inks by ColorBox ..... they are a MUST have for any project! These are my 3 favs, but there are lot's of colors to choose from.

"My Heart" Mini Book

{made out of 1 sheet of 12x12 PP, folded and sewn to create pockets}

The lacy sleeve slides right off so that you can open up the book.

I enclosed a 7 Gypsies Flashcard with the first initial of each of my children's names,

and then tucked a recent picture of each one behind the card in the pocket.

There is special journaling to each child on the back of the flashcard.

It is FINALLY summer vacation for my kids and I am loving every minute! Here are 5 of my favorite things about summer:

1. Nature {flowers, trees, birds etc.}

5. Camping

which we are doing this weekend!! we leave this afternoon for 3 days of family fun~ woohooo!

Friday Favs 5/15/09

1. Confederate Jasmine
this is my favorite plant EVER!!! Hearty for zones 8-11, I was devastated when I moved to a zone 3-4 two years ago. I was recently at my local plant nursery and I squeeled with delight when I found "my" Jasmine in their tropical plant section!! I brought some home this week and I have been enjoying it immensly! The scent is HEAVENLY... and I will bring my sweetie plant inside when the weather gets chilly :)

2. Dave Ramsey & Financial Peace University
I have loved Dave for several years now... he is a financial genious! Matt and I went through his course "Financial Peace University" several years ago & learned so much! We just decided to go through the course again and our first class was this week. I am excited :)

3. Gerbera Daisies
I LOVE these gorgeous flowers! I won a lovely vase full of them this week at MOPS. I have been enjoying them in my living room ever since :)

4. Close to My Heart "Be Yourself" Diva Stamp Set

I love these DIVA stamps! I went to a crop last weekend and there was a CTMH rep there with all her goodies! I had so much fun playing and shopping and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set! (stamp of the month for May!)

5. Texas Roadhouse

Recently discovered this restaurant and it is quickly rising to my favs! I love the rolls & I have a blast everytime we go! YUM!!!

Our road trip was a BLAST!!

1. The 100 Mile Yard Sale TOP FINDS

*Antique chair turned plant stand {and a bunch of GORGEOUS flowers!}

*Anything ROOSTER/CHICKEN catches my eye- and so did this handmade cabinet!

*We found a man that makes birdhouses and bird feeders, and we bought this 16 room Martin Condo from him, along with several smaller feeders and houses. (weighs over 100lbs!)

This place was soooooo much fun! We found it in Wabasha, MN. & they had lots of different consignors with all different kinds of antiques, crafts and woodwork. Plus Kettle Corn! YUM! We spent the afternoon at the farm and had a blast!

3. Prescott, WI
the first town after we crossed the MN border into WI. This town was adorable!! A historical town along the Mississippi River, Prescott is the beginning of the scenic "Great River Road". The 100 mile yard sale was along the route of the Great River Road and it was GORGEOUS!

4. Panera Bread
I love Panera sooo much! We stopped by the cafe in St. Cloud, MN and stocked up on bagels and paninis for the road!

5. AMAZING Photography Opportunities

I had such a FABULOUS time- I can't wait for next year!

Happy Friday and Happy Spring! Time for my favs- so here we go!

1. Birthday Week!!
My birthday is Tuesday and I am going to celebrate all week!!
woohooo!! I love birthdays!! Who can make me this cake?

2. Road Trips!!
Love them! To kick off my birthday week, we are heading to the Mississippi River on a road trip! I can't wait & We leave TODAY :)

3. 100 Mile Yard Sale
I know I posted yard sales last week, but this extravaganza is actually the purpose of this birthday road trip. A group of us are heading over to Minnesota for a 3 days weekend of fun! There are 100 miles of yard sales along the Mississippi River, starting in MN and down into WI & I plan to hit as many as possible!!

4. Panera Bread
My FAVORITE restaurat in the world! The closest one to me is 4 hours away and just happens to be part of our route! I plan to eat there at least once a day this weekend!

5. Visiting Local Scrapbook Stores {along the way}
Apparently there are several scrap stores along our route, and I plan to stop and visit as many as possible! Yard sales are awesome- but what is a road trip without a little scrapbook shopping spree??

Friday Favs 4/24/09

late again..... it is just too beautiful outside!

1. Holland's Landscaping & Garden Center in Moorhead, MN
My dear friend, Charity B., took me here yesterday and I had an absolute blast! Even though the garden area wasn't completely ready, (afterall, it is still the tale end of winter here!) they are definitely getting ready for Spring!! They had some of the funnest stuff! I was like a kid in a candy store there- so many great handmade items for both your home and garden, and a lot of them made by local artists! I can't wait to go back :)

2. Pink Paislee {duh!}
I love this company- usually because they are so fun and GIRLY, however I about fainted when I received the new "Fetching" line in a kit- awesome awesome awesome! I love this line and it is perfect for BOYS! (kit reveal in less than a week- stay tuned!)

3. The Awakening Series by Charles Martin
Just finished these books- and I LOVED them- they have so much raw emotion and the writing will carry you away for hours. Amazing story line- will entertain both men and women.
Check them out!

4. Yard Sales!
One of my most favorite hobbies... you never know what you will find! The season is starting again and I am giddy with anticipation of the treasures I might come across!

5. Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread made by Bridgford Foods
Seriously, this bread is amazing & you can cook it in your microwave in 2.5 mins! It is sooooo good! We are keeping it stocked in our house ;)

Friday Favs (a day late...) 4/17/09

This has been a crazy few weeks for sure... I am so sad I haven't kept up with my Friday Favs! So here they are for this week... even though they are a day late.... Enjoy!

1. Photography
This picture of Anabelle that I took with my cell phone. She was sitting in the attic of an old Victorian house looking out the window... it is maybe my favorite picture ever!!

2. Springtime!
We recently went to a garden center and it was amazing to see all the beauty and growth inside the greenhouses there. Here is North Dakota, spring doesn't usually start until May, but at the garden center, it was in full bloom!

3. Wild Finches
Along with springtime, comes all the birds! I have been soooo enjoying watching all the little finches come to my feeders! I have 5 feeders up and I am having to re-fill them every other day or so. The birds are HUNGRY, and I am just fine with that, because I LOVE watching them every day!!

4. Old Victorian Houses
We are house hunting.... we have lived in ND for almost 2 years now, and we have decided to buy a house here in our town. We really love it here, and we hope to settle and stay for awhile!
I am LOVING all the old turn of the century Victorian homes here, and I am hoping we can find the perfect one for us!

5. Starbucks Peppermint Mocha
I can't believe I haven't used this as one of my favs before! These are popular at Christmas, but here's a secret.... You can get them year round, and it is a good thing too, because this is my absolute FAVORITE starbucks drink!! Woohoo!!

Happy Friday Y'all!!
I know it has been a couple weeks since I posted my favs, but I am BACK!

1. Knight for a Princess
The Annual "Knight for a Princess" held in Grand Forks, ND is a special "Ball" held for daddy's to take their little girls to a night of dinner and dancing!!

Matt took Julianna and Anabelle tonight & I had a blast shopping, getting them ready and then taking pictures of them all dolled up! I think it is an awesome idea for daddy's to spend time with their daughters!!!

2. Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels
I LOVE this stuff! I am using it more and more! If you haven't tried it yet- GO GET SOME!

3. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store & Restaurant
I love this place!!! When I was home in Jacksonville, Fl last week, my sisters and I went there for breakfast. YUM! I love their cheesy hashbrown casserole :) Then we got someone to take a picture of the 3 of us sitting in the rocking chairs out front!!

4. Spa Pedicures
Even though there is still snow on the ground here in ND, and flip flop season is a couple months off, one of my fav indulgences is a PEDICURE! I love how relaxing it is to sit in the massage chair and be pampered for an hour!

5. My Hometown- Jacksonville Beach, FL
It was great to be home, even if it was only for a few days! Living up north has given me a real appreciation for sunshine and the beach... both things I had taken for granted before moving! Look at this coastline! GORGEOUS!!! I am so lucky to be able to call Jax Beach my hometown!

It is SPRINGTIME! Get out and enjoy the beauty!!!! Enjoy the SUN!!

I love love love this line by Cosmo Cricket... I got my first small sample of it in the mail today, and now I want it ALL! Gorgeous!

here is my first fun project:

"Princess"
For once, I wanted to be the princess on the scrapbook page!! HAHA!! ;)
I used the plain cardboard for my background. I painted, inked, and sprayed with several different colors of glimmer mist. I totally grunged it up!! I used the embroidery floss and the template to sew the "leaf" flourishes on. I layered lots of differrent flowers from both the kit & the add on. I used a stamp for the "Z"

All the items are from the kit or add on except: lace, diecut title, grungeboard crown.

I can't wait to make some more!

The Sketch layout- I changed it up a bit from the actual sketch- but I took my inspiration from it! All items used are from the kit or add on, except the ric rac, staples and paint.

Picture of me & Annie. Again I used paint, ink and glimmer mist to distress.
All the items are from the kit or kit add on except: gold lace, tiny black alpha stickers.

"Precious"

One of my favorite pictures of my husband holding Annie! I really wanted a romantic/ shabby chic look to this layout.
I added vintage lace, book page and Prima flowers to the gorgeous Basic Grey paper! The chipboard flourishes are from a previous sussies kit add on.

TGIF! Happy Friday everyone!
I am getting my wisdom teeth surgically removed first thing in the morning, so I am posting these early.

Here we go:

1. Christian Louboutin Shoes
I came across this STUNNING shoe, appropriately named the "Dream Shoe" and I fell... in love that is! I don't know if I could actually walk gracefully in these shoes... but I am definitely wearing them in my dreams. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these heels!

2. Farm Town
I am so obsessed with this Facebook App!! I have a farm and crops and animals... what more can I say? If you become my neighbor I will send you a tree or an animal ;)

3. EK Success Binding Edge Border Punch
Brand new and *hopefully* in a store near you- I LOVE this punch! It makes the paper look like it was just ripped out of a spiral notebook. AND- if you are lucky, you can get it on sale for about $10 this week @ Michael's!

4. Real Housewives of NYC
I love Reality TV!!! This show is on my "must see TV" list right now- these women are hilarious & ridiculous and I keep watching, because I am dying to see what happens next.
(airs on BRAVO)

5. Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream
Super fattening, but delicious! I plan to eat a lot of this while I am recovering from my oral surgery ;)

1. Swirlydoos

My new kit club addiction! They are a brand new kit club that is as obsessed with Prima as me! I can't wait to get my first kit!! This is a sneak peek of the March kit!

2. French Manicures

One of my fav ways to be pampered! I got my nails filled on Wed... don't they look gorgeous against this new PRIMA stitched paper? ;)

3. Robin Eggs

my FAVORITE Easter candy is hitting store shelves everywhere & Matt surprised me with a bag!!

4. Tomato Soup @ Paula's Cafe

Every Friday, Paula's Cafe in Mayville has Tomato Soup. It is the BEST Tomato Soup I have ever had in my life! It is so good, that a group of us now have a standing Friday lunch date at Paula's. I am about to go and get some now... YUMMMY!! :)

5. Baby Animals!

hopefully a sign that Spring is coming soon ;0)

We took Annie out to a sheep farm yesterday to see all the baby lambs that were born this week! We had a lot of fun- I sooooo want a B&W baby lamb!

There it is... my Fav5 of the week!

I was learning to walk and with my grandpa, "Grandolly"

I used glimmer mist on all the grungeboard & lots of orange staples!

I distressed the photo mat with my edge distresser and then painted
the edges and sprayed with glimmer mist.

I also randomly sprayed "Antique Brass" Glimmer mist on the
background PP to give it some creative interest!

1. Prima Marketing!!

no surprise here... but since I just got a bunch of new goodies,
I figured I would add them to my list!

2. Danny Gokey

My fav American Idol contestant. I just love him- he is so happy and positive,
despite losing his wife recently. AND, he has an awesome voice!
I hope he makes it all the way to the end!

3. Girl Scout Cookies

a HUGE weakness for me... they are being sold door to door by cute little girls in pigtails. I ordered 5 boxes of my favs- Samoas (Caramel Delites) and 3 more of Thin Mints! These babies freeze and you can eat them all year long ;)

4. Day Spas

Ooh La La!! Matt gave me a gift certificate to a day spa for Valentine's Day and I am sooo excited to go and have a full day package!

5. FACEBOOK

I am so addicted! Love it there!! Are you one of my friends? I sure hope so!

Picture of Matt & me from last fall.
I used the title and lyrics from a Mary Chapin Carperter song for the inspiration.

I used flocking powder on the grungeboard flowers, and
"Meadow Green" glimmer mist mixed with acrylic paint on the stems.
I used several layers of "Antique Brass" glimmer mist on the butterflies.

I love these little hinges that came in the kit!!!
Also, I bent up the wings on the butterfly to give him a ""flying" effect.

I sprayed the title letters with several layers of Antique Brass Glimmer Mist
and used my heat gun between layers.

I also used my sewing machine to make a "frame" border around all my elements.
I distressed all the edges of the paper with either my Heidi Swapp edge distresser
or with my finger nail & then inked the edges.

Pictures of me when I was 2. (1980)
my daddy took and developed these pictures.

I used my craft knife to cut out around all the elements in the PP,
and bent wings to have the elements "fly" off the page.

The lace is gathered and machine sewn all around the perimeter of the page.
I made it "messy" on purpose.

I sprayed the grungeboard with "Graphite" & "Antique Brass" Glimmer Mist

I used the tulle blossoms from the Making Memories "Paperie" line
as 3D accents on the pattern paper flowers & topped them with buttons.

I love these decorative paper clips by Making Memories!

I am really enjoying this kit!
Hopefully I will have more projects finished and posted from it soon!

My "Scrap" Room

for those of you who know me well...
you know that I kidnapped my dining room about a year ago
and turned into my scrap space...

Here is how the story began:
When we moved to North Dakota in 2007,
our new house didn't have an extra room all my scrapbook
and craft supplies... so I started using my dining room table.

After about 6 mths of that, I decided the room was
being used for scrapping far more than eating,
and lucky for me, I have an AMAZING husband that allowed
me this madness ;) I love seeing the look on people's faces when
they come to my house for the first time and realize that
my dining room is not for "dining" at all!

So here are a few pics I recently took- Enjoy!

The view as you enter my scrap area and also the only way into
my kitchen! I keep a rectangular folding table set up next to my
dining room table for when my friends come over to scrap with me :)

The view from my living room looking into my scrap area:

My PRIMA cabinet {in all it's GORGEOUS glory!} and my peg board
wall. I call see everything here from my scrap area, so I know what I
have and I use it more often. I usually change out the stuff on the
peg board every couple months and put newer products up there. I
figure if I haven't used it after staring at it for 2-4 months, then I
probably won't anytime soon ;) My Prima cabinet is getting full,
but there is always PLENTY of room for more PRIMA in my life!!!

My scrap area- where I sit, create and make all my pages and
projects. I love sitting facing my living room, because then I can
still "hang out" with my family even when I am scrapping. I keep a
photo box full of recent pictures on the table next to me, so that I
always have something to work on. When I want to use my
sewing machine, I just go sit on the other side of the table!

My favorite "Chili Pepper Cabinet"- named for the chili pepper
design on the bottom doors of the cabinet. Although you can only
see a small part of the whole thing, this is my favorite piece of
furniture in my house! I absolutely LOVE it! I bought it several
years ago from an Antique store in Jax Beach, FL., and it has had
a place of honor in my dining room ever since! I have always used
it to store and display dishes, but I have now commandeered the
lower 2 levels for scrapping stuff. I used the bar {originally to hold
plates in} as a ribbon organizer- it works AWESOME for my ribbon
and lace!!! I also have several large antique jars that I have found
here and there, that I am now using to store buttons, ribbon, lace etc
in. I have those displayed on there as well.

My recently acquired clip it up!! I have it on the sideboard behind
my scrap area, so all I have to do is turn around, and everything
is in reach! This is an AWESOME invention- it has really helped
me to organize a lot of my stash that takes up too much room
on my pegboard.

Another view of my messy {although fairly clean for me!} scrap
area! I keep most things that I use regularly within arm's reach
somewhere on the table... so there is always quite a bit of stuff on
there. I took the pictures while there was a page in progress...
although it is now finished and will be put up here on my blog
{probably tomorrow!}

I love this song! There is a line in the song
about how "we are God's hands"
I used this line as the inspiration for my page!

I journaled about how Matt and I
have gotten involved with the youth group
at our church and how we feel God has
called us into this ministry!

I am so excited to apply for a DT position at
Create My Keepsake!

As part of the application process,
we have to create a kit out of our own
scrapbook stash-
then post the creations we make from it!

I had an absolute blast doing this!
Definitely the most unique and fun way to apply
for a DT position :)

So without further ado, I present:

"Almost Sisters"
A page about a great family friend- Jessica.
I pulled the layers of the large Prima flower apart
so that I could use the flower on more than one
project & I decorated the chipboard with stickles.

"Love You..."
My husband, Matt and me at a Christmas Party this year!
I burnt the edges of the "Script" paper with a lighter.

"Time Flies"
My 3 oldest kids on the first day of school.
I cut the pattern paper into scalloped circle shape.

Mini Notebook
I love this little clipboard style notebook!
I used a leftover "page" from a mini chipboard
album for the base of the notebook.

Framed Picture
I started with a plain 8x10 black frame.
I cut my pattern paper down to size and then made a
simple scrapbook page featuring the photo & using
machine stitching. On the outside of the frame I added
trim and the other half of the large Prima flower.

(when we went home for Christmas, we took this
picture of all the "Van Dyke" kids- my brother{Joe},
sister {Caroline}, me and my baby sister {Ginnie})

I have been neglecting the blog...
I was surprised when I saw the date of the last post,
this has been a crazy time for me & I actually
FORGOT to blog!
YIKES! ;)

Lots of changes have been happening with me:
I just ended 3 of my Design Team Positions
and it is a bitter sweet experience!
I really appreciate the opportunities-
and will miss those companies dearly!
BUT!
I am also really excited to move on and find
new companies and new design challenges.
Every scrapbook company out there offers different
experiences & learning opportunities
and I am really excited to pursue that!

I was so HONORED to be chosen as November's
Guest Designer for the FABULOUS company:
Mollie & Mac!!

I had the privilege & opportunity to use their products
& meet the owners a few months back when
2 scrappy chix designs
featured the company in their August kit.
I absolutely loved their 2 paper lines we used- they are just my style!

Fortunately, I got to use more of their fantastic papers,
as well as a new acrylic album when I was designing

Prima Ooh La La!

Prima Obsession??

Ok- so anyone that knows me at all,
knows my "affection" for Prima!!!
I am in love with everything they make,
and one of my ultimate scrapping goals is to be a
Prima Flower Girl!

Well a few weekends ago,
My dear friend, Melissa, and I went out into
the country to an antique/ juntique sale.
I found several FABULOUS Shabby Chic pieces-
including:
this fun corner cabinet!!
{actually measures about 6 ft tall}

It sat empty in my dining room for weeks,
as I tried to think of the perfect use for it.
Then, one night as I was laying in bed trying
to get to sleep- it hit me!
A cabinet full of Prima- goodness!
My dream come true!

Sooooo.... What do you think??? ;)
{and don't worry- there is still PLENTY of room for more!}

Pumpkin Patch FUN

Today Annie & I went with our MOPS group
on a fieldtrip to a local pumpkin patch!
We had so much fun-

Have you seen the challenge blog for
"12 on the 12th"?

Basically you take pictures of your day-
on the 12th of each month, then you scrap them!

Answer these types of questions with your camera:
"What are you reading?"
"What did you have for dinner?"
"Where did you go?"
"Who did you spend time with?"
(ETC ... ETC!)

You get the picture!
I started doing this back in July and I LOVE it!

Happy weekend y'all!!
The high today in Mayville, North Dakota was 46*
Can you believe it?
It is cold!! We had to wear jackets!
I am thinking that the warmer weather is
DEFINITELY over :(

Well.... the cold weather makes me want to
stay home and SCRAP!
I have been working on Halloween pages this
week... that is a BIG deal for me.
I am HOLIDAY challenged when it comes to scrapping!

"Lil Pumpkin"

Pictures of Julianna @ the Pumpkin Patch when she was only 5!
I made the flowers out of the PP and
used ink and glimmer mist for the owl.
I love the VINTAGE feel!!!

What a cutie pie!!
I am also using this page for the M2R Oct Challenge--
scrap your pictures that aren't so "great"!

"Fall Candle Project"

I decided to embellish a candle for fall.
My sister LOVES fall decorations-
so I bought her favorite scented pillar candle from Pier 1
(ginger peach- which also coordinates beautifully color wise!)
I decorated the candle for fall, with a removable sleeve.
This way she can remove the sleeve to burn the candle
and save the decoration for years to come.
The smaller votive is also ginger peach-
and I stuck the little crocheted flower on top because
it reminded me of an acorn!!

This past week has been crazy!
I have been so busy- I have not blogged in 8 days-
I apologize- I hope I have some readers left!

I have had the best week :)
I have spent some time with new friends and that
has been wonderful!
I have gotten 4 new kits in the mail!
4! WOW!

I got my first DT kit for Scrapbook Sussies
and I have already started playing with it!
I have to say- it is always a challenge
when you get a kit that is completely NOT your style,
but it is a great way to expand your scrapbooking!

I LOOOOVEEE the Sussies kits because
it is rarely stuff I would have purchased on my own-
but yet I always have a blast making my pages
with all the goodies I get!
These kits have some of the most
GENEROUS and AWESOME
embellishments I have seen for the money!
If you have never gotten a "sussie",
you gotta try one!

Here are a couple pages I made with the recent
Itty Bitty Scrap Shack
September kit:
"Katlin" by Crate Paper

This is a great example of a kit that I would never buy!
The paper is very pretty (Julianna LOVES it!!!)
but it is just not my style at all.
It is very whimsical and fairytale like.
The first time I saw it, I immediately thought of a
TEA PARTY!
So that is exactly what I did,
I took a picture of my girls haveing a tea party :)

I actually really love the way this next page came out!
This is why I LOVE kit clubs!
I already said that I would not have bought
this paper normally-
but I am so glad I got this kit, because
I really love the way this page
"Pretty Girl" came out!

I made the fabric flower out of coordinating fabric scraps
and added the cardstock leaves that came in the kit.

I made this page for the PRIMA challenge at the Bad Girls site.
We had to use 75% prima products on our layout.

I sprayed the flowers with glimmer mist & then used
gold leafing paint to accent the flowers, shells and the title.
The postcard in the background is from the new
Prima Collage paper.

These pictures are of my kids back in 2003.
They were taken in Jacksonville Beach, FL {my hometown}
