Friday Faves 7/31/09

I am such a blog slacker this summer!! Matt actually gave me a hard time just now for not posting my favs this week.... so here they are, a day late!!

1. My new "Chowbrador" puppy: BEAR

he is such a super cutie- I just love him!!

2. My new art studio!!

Matt has been building me a floor to ceiling built in bookcase on one wall of my new studio and it is getting it's last coat of paint as we speak! here is a sneak peek:

3. Home Parties

I had a CTMH this week and it was sooooo much fun!! I really love their products, but I also just had a great time having a party at my house and inviting all my friends over!

4. Winning Raffle Prizes

Anabelle's name was drawn at Matt's company picnic this week and she won an adorable Barbie bike!!! so fun!

5. My hubby: Matt!

tomorrow is our 12 year anniversary and I am more in love than ever! I am so thankful for my sweet husband!

Friday Faves 7/3/09

Happy Holiday Weekend- here are my Favs!

1. America

I love our country and the freedom that we have!

I am so thankful to be an American citizen!

2. Fireworks

3. Cookouts

I am so excited to go to a 4th of July party/cookout tomorrow

with friends and family! YUM!

4. Lawn Mowers {or the sound of it!}

I LOVE the sound of the lawn being mowed-

it is so summery to me! Makes me smile everytime I wake up and

hear the sound of the lawn being mowed in the distance!

5. Slip N Slides

remember these? I loved playing on a slip n slide when I was a kid!

I just found one at Target and now I am teaching my own kids to

enjoy the simple joy of the backyard sprinkler!

Friday Favs 6/5/09

Happy Friday!!!

My Fav's today will feature scrapbook stuff (since this IS my scrapping blog, I thought it would be appropriate to actually feature scrap stuff.... HA!)

My 5 favorite things to use right now- I am using these on every page!

1. Edge Distresser

I distress EVERYTHING! My projects feel naked otherwise. Sometimes people ask me how I do that- here is the answer: I have always used the Heidi Swapp distresser and it is awesome & super easy to use!

Just recently I found a new one from Close to my Heart and I am LOVING it! It has multiple openings, so if one section gets dull, you can just move to another one! (sorry for the poor picture... it is the circular tool on the left)

2. Lace

oh yes, another MUST HAVE for me! I use lace on everything! new, vintage, colorful, white... I never met a piece of lace I didn't like! ;-)

and just recently, I found this DYEABLE lace by Prima- LOVE THIS! You can ink it, spray it, paint it.... the possibilities are endless & you never get the same look twice! How fun is that?!?

3. Flowers

and Prima has LOTS of new ones coming out... and yep, I want them ALL! Here are some sneak peeks:

4. Glimmer Mist

Made by Tattered Angels, this stuff is HOT! I am not kidding- so much fun to use! (and you will feel so creative!) I am using it more and more... with over 80 colors to choose from, you can easily find one to fit your next project!

5. Cat's Eye Chalk Inks

I think most scrapper's have probably found these chalk inks by ColorBox ..... they are a MUST have for any project! These are my 3 favs, but there are lot's of colors to choose from.

Friday Favs 5/29/09

Happy Friday!! :-)

It is FINALLY summer vacation for my kids and I am loving every minute! Here are 5 of my favorite things about summer:

1. Nature {flowers, trees, birds etc.}

2. Afternoon Rain Showers

3. Relaxing outside by/in the pool

4. Picnics

5. Camping

which we are doing this weekend!! we leave this afternoon for 3 days of family fun~ woohooo!

Friday Favs 5/15/09

1. Confederate Jasmine
this is my favorite plant EVER!!! Hearty for zones 8-11, I was devastated when I moved to a zone 3-4 two years ago. I was recently at my local plant nursery and I squeeled with delight when I found "my" Jasmine in their tropical plant section!! I brought some home this week and I have been enjoying it immensly! The scent is HEAVENLY... and I will bring my sweetie plant inside when the weather gets chilly :)



2. Dave Ramsey & Financial Peace University
I have loved Dave for several years now... he is a financial genious! Matt and I went through his course "Financial Peace University" several years ago & learned so much! We just decided to go through the course again and our first class was this week. I am excited :)



3. Gerbera Daisies
I LOVE these gorgeous flowers! I won a lovely vase full of them this week at MOPS. I have been enjoying them in my living room ever since :)

4. Close to My Heart "Be Yourself" Diva Stamp Set

I love these DIVA stamps! I went to a crop last weekend and there was a CTMH rep there with all her goodies! I had so much fun playing and shopping and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set! (stamp of the month for May!)

5. Texas Roadhouse

Recently discovered this restaurant and it is quickly rising to my favs! I love the rolls & I have a blast everytime we go! YUM!!!

Friday Favs 5/8/09

I had a wonderful Birthday- thanks so much for all the Birthday Wishes!!!
Our road trip was a BLAST!!
here are the highlites:

1. The 100 Mile Yard Sale TOP FINDS

*Antique, hand carved, hand painted dresser


*Antique chair turned plant stand {and a bunch of GORGEOUS flowers!}

*Anything ROOSTER/CHICKEN catches my eye- and so did this handmade cabinet!


*We found a man that makes birdhouses and bird feeders, and we bought this 16 room Martin Condo from him, along with several smaller feeders and houses. (weighs over 100lbs!)

2. Papa's Barn Boutique & Craft Fair
This place was soooooo much fun! We found it in Wabasha, MN. & they had lots of different consignors with all different kinds of antiques, crafts and woodwork. Plus Kettle Corn! YUM! We spent the afternoon at the farm and had a blast!









3. Prescott, WI
the first town after we crossed the MN border into WI. This town was adorable!! A historical town along the Mississippi River, Prescott is the beginning of the scenic "Great River Road". The 100 mile yard sale was along the route of the Great River Road and it was GORGEOUS!





4. Panera Bread
I love Panera sooo much! We stopped by the cafe in St. Cloud, MN and stocked up on bagels and paninis for the road!
